Watch high-horsepower diesel engines command BN train #3, the "Pacific Zip", BN's first hotshot intermodal transcontinental marketing experiment, as it arrives in Seattle from Chicago and is broken down by switch "crew 6." Then see crew 6 put together the eastbound train #4, and watch it charge up the mountains back towards Spokane, Minneapolis and ultimately Chicago. The action takes place on Burr Stewart's HO scale "Burrlington Northern" model railroad layout, set in the Seattle Region on the Burlington Northern in approximately 1973. Burr narrates the video with stories about the "Zip" and other railroad folklore and train operating insights.
