We were taught to punch without a swing in Soviet boxing. This is nothing new, not a figment of the imagination. This punch is difficult to execute now because of the tight bandages. The hand becomes like a prosthesis. A fast and accurate punch, however, is delivered with a rotating wrist, creating reactivity, then the lift of inertia and the angular acceleration from the turning of the legs complete the punch.
