Is Fairbanks Fun During the Day?

Fairbanks is famous for the Northern Lights, but what is there to do after sunrise? In this episode of our Alaska series, we explore the daytime side of a Fairbanks aurora trip. After late nights chasing the Northern Lights, we visited The Cookie Jar, saw the incredible ice sculptures at the Ice Art Championships, stopped in North Pole, Alaska, shopped for local souvenirs at the Alaska Bowl Company, and went dog sledding through the snow outside Fairbanks. Fairbanks surprised us. The aurora may be the reason many travelers come here, but the daytime experiences made the trip feel much more complete. In this video, we’ll show you what we did, what felt worth it, and whether Fairbanks is fun during the day — even when the real goal of the trip is seeing the Northern Lights at night.
