Canning Drunk Cherries
Cherries are my favorite fruit, hands down! And bourbon ain’t bad either! Mix them together and you have a great little condiment for cocktails, charcuterie, dessert...the possibilities are endless & delicious! Ingredients: 3 lbs pitted cherries 3 cups sugar 3 cups water 4 tsp vanilla extract 4 TBS lemon juice Grand Marnier Good bourbon, like Jim Beam Directions: Clean and prepare 8 to 10 1/2 pint jars for canning. Pack cherries into jars, leaving 1/2 inch at the top. Mix water and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to a low boil. Remove from heat; add vanilla & lemon juice. Put 2 TBS of bourbon & 1/2 TBS Grand Marnier in each jar. Fill with sugar syrup to 1/2 inch headspace. Put on clean, warm lids & rings. Process in a water bath for 15 minutes.
