Amtrak's Iconic Iconography

Amtrak has had its fair share of paint schemes and logos over the course of their nearly 50 years in existence. Their look and brand has changed consistently overtime bearing mind with design trends of the time. From a very 1970s look to something a bit more streamlined and modern post-2000, Amtrak has gone through quite the evolution. But how and why did Amtrak make the creative decisions they did? Here I do my best to explain that and some of the history behind it.
