Fall mushroom foraging and hiking in Washington
White Pass - Pilot Ridge loop is an amazing trek in Glacier Peak Wilderness, nestled right along the Mountain Loop Highway. It follows the North Fork Sauk River for a few miles before ascending to the Pacific Crest Trail, offering views of Glacier Peak and surrounding mountains for miles. My hike offered an embarrassment of wild fungi riches, plus the first brilliant autumn reds and golds of the season. Seriously — I was just about swimming in wild #porcini. It has been a great summer of hiking! #wildfood #wildmushrooms #pacificcresttrail #northcascades
