The trip was four hours, but it was well worth it for the beauty of the mountains in that area, with Mt. Rainier Washington in the area. Matsutake Mushrooms (Tricholoma murrillianum) are one of my favorites to forage for in the Fall here in the Cascade Mountains in WA. I mention Podzol Soils, where the mushrooms grow.
