connecting the dots (music journal #8)
This week I focused on connecting different elements of the composition into a more coherent structure. After some predictable attempts with distorted guitar, I explored rhythmic cells built on groups of 2, 5 and 7 notes, opening a new direction for the algorithmic layer of the piece. I also worked on reinforcing the bass using acoustic guitar, electric guitar and prepared piano, experimenting directly with the physical sound of the instrument. The overall form of the piece is slowly becoming visible. Part of my weekly music journal documenting the creative process.
