The Civil Police of the Federal District arrested a couple this Friday (27), suspected of simulating the suicide of a neighbor to conceal a homicide. Thiago Alves Cajá, 24, and Thalissa dos Santos Araújo, 21, allegedly killed Samara Regina da Costa Dias with the intention of taking her property. According to investigators, the man had a vast criminal history. Furthermore, he and the suspect are drug users. Initially treated as a suicide, the case took a turn after an alleged assault by Thiago against Thalissa. She then went to a police station and reported that he had strangled Samara to death. During the investigation, contradictions emerged in the couple's statements and evidence indicating premeditation in the crime. They will face charges of aggravated homicide and procedural fraud – for tampering with the crime scene.
