Zaenur made this statement in response to Febrie's attorney, Hotman Paris, who questioned the designation of his client as a suspect in an alleged corruption case. According to Zaenur, everyone must be treated equally before the law. There should be no differential treatment simply because of a particular track record or accomplishments. Zaenur stated that case handling should be based on legal aspects, namely proving whether the suspect actually committed the crime as alleged, without linking it to other factors. "No one can claim to be the most accomplished person and therefore immune from the law. There should be no justifications or excuses," said Zaenur, as quoted by Tribunnews on Monday (July 20, 2026). He then highlighted Febrie's previous position as an officer in the anti-corruption movement. According to Zaenur, the suspect should understand and be aware of the violation. Therefore, Febrie's status as a law enforcement officer should be an aggravating factor if proven guilty of a crime. "When someone who understands the law commits a violation, it means they are fully aware, fully knowledgeable, and understand the risks they face," he continued. Previously, Hotman Paris showcased Febrie's achievements during his tenure as the Special Crimes Director at the Attorney General's Office. He stated that his client successfully recovered a significant amount of state losses, reaching Rp 430 trillion, including the Family Hope Program (PKH) Task Force. According to Hotman, this achievement makes Febrie one of President Prabowo Subianto's proudest figures. He also questioned the naming of his client as a suspect because the National Police did not first obtain permission from the president.
