According to Firdaus, this argument actually puts the National Police in a corner and calls it a blunder in delivering a legal opinion. Firdaus made this statement in a post on his personal Instagram account on Saturday (July 18). Attorney Firdaus Oiwobo refuted Hotman Paris' legal arguments regarding the search procedure in the case involving Febrie Adriansyah. Firdaus considered this argument to be unconventional in legal defense practice. "Hotman Paris' legal argument is considered unconventional in legal defense because it puts the National Police in a negative light," Firdaus said. According to him, Hotman's defense tends to put the National Police as the investigating agency in a negative light. He called this move a blunder in providing legal explanations to the public. Firdaus also considered Hotman to have erred in his positioning of the legal issues at hand. Therefore, Firdaus emphasized that he disagreed with the arguments put forward by renowned lawyer Hotman Paris. Previously, Hotman Paris accused National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit of not seeking permission from President Prabowo Subianto before naming former Special Crimes Director Febrie Adriansyah as a suspect. Hotman made this statement after accompanying Febrie during questioning at the Attorney General's Office's Special Crimes Directorate Round Building on Friday evening (July 17, 2026). According to Hotman, Febrie has been a key figure for President Prabowo, particularly within the Forest Area Regulation Task Force (PKH). He said Febrie has made a significant contribution to efforts to mitigate state losses through law enforcement. Hotman also believes the accusations against his client are baseless and constitute criminalization. Therefore, he has agreed to serve as Febrie's legal representative throughout the legal process.
