Mitchell Lake, 4 Day Wild Camping- Mapping and Exploring

Time to explore a new area! Johnny, Dave, 2 dogs and I head all the way to Sherbrooke NS in search of a paddle route that may or may not exist. As many people may be aware, forest fires ravaged NS recently due to dry weather. This trip fortunately came and went the weekend before the fires struck and we had no issues and did not cause any either. This is the first trip we have undertaken by using a new portage map system being developed by Ryan for Canoe Kayak NS (CKNS). It's a very exciting project that will hopefully solve the problem of thousands of lakes with a lack of documentation and mapping. The goal was to get to Big Gaspereau Lake via Mitchell lake, but we may have had to set our sights a little lower. That being said, the trip was a big success and we loved the exploration and trail clearing. This episode covers day 1 and 2 of the trip. I have classed this as a fishing trip, but yet again we had very little catches to speak of. I don't think I mention it in the video, but of the 5 bodies of water we explored, we found only one camp and in the 4 days did not see another human. Part two will likely be a couple weeks away.
