2026 Aspen Valley Marathon

This video is of my running of the 2026 Aspen Valley Marathon on Saturday, July 25, 2026. I wrote the poem, Counting One to Hundred. Then, I used AI to generate a song from my poem. ~ Counting One to Hundred ~ Counting one to a hundred is a task in itself. Running mile after mile all alone with myself. Just to go one more foot or a block or a mile But it gives me a reason to giggle and smile. The endorphins are real on a day like today. With the sun in the sky on its daily display. I believe I can fly, except that I can’t, I will probably fall or I’ll slip on a slant. The tra-il will take me to distances far. The road will be further than any ol’ star. So, I’ve run in a marathon, raced by the sea. I’ve sweltered in heat as I’ve had to go pee. There were times when the temps were as cold as the ice Or the air was so humid, it made me think twice. With the rain the whole way or … heh … even some snow As my feet kept me going and the people said, “Go!” I am blessed with a passion for trivial pursuits, That might give an edge or at least some nice glutes? But the world is all full of so many of you That belong on a pedestal cuz I can’t outdo. You are warm and you’re sweet and you’re kind and you’re good With a heart that is golden but misunderstood.
