This week, I'm venturing into street food trends with this recipe for chicken krousty rice! My daughter told me about it, and I decided to try it! And it's delicious! Ingredients: For the fragrant rice 300g rice (jasmine, basmati, or long-grain rice) 1 medium onion 2 garlic cloves 1 tbsp. 1 tbsp vegetable oil 1 chicken bouillon cube or 1/2 cube (or 1/2 liter of clear stock) Salt, pepper A pinch of turmeric, sweet paprika, or bouillon powder if you want a powdery/orange color For the fried chicken 400g chicken breasts (or boneless thighs) 1 egg 60g flour 40g cornstarch, for extra crispiness Salt, pepper Spices: paprika, garlic powder, sweet chili, herbs Oil for frying For the sauce 4 tbsp soy sauce 2 tbsp sweet and sour sauce or fish sauce 1 tbsp honey or sugar 1 garlic clove, minced 1 tsp grated fresh ginger (optional) 2 tbsp 1 tbsp water 1 tbsp cornstarch diluted in a little water to thicken Garnish Fried onions (crispy onion style) Chopped chives Sesame seeds Chili pepper Fresh cilantro ----------------------------- Welcome to Norbert's Loft, where you'll find family recipes and legendary recipes from my shows on M6: Top Chef, Commis d'Office, Norbert et Jean.
