#Kintsugi #Japan #handmade 00:00 ❄️ Opening 00:19 🧣 Apron & Preparation 00:43 🪵 Edge smoothing & surface prep 03:11 🧴 Raw urushi base coat & cleaning 04:38 📦 Drying in a humid box 05:00 🧂 Making mugi-urushi (wheat paste lacquer) 06:55 🧵 Bonding 07:20 🧂 Base coating 07:57 ✨ Sprinkling tin powder 09:44 🕊 Finishing touches 10:49 🍵 Completed piece 🌿 About This Video In this video, I tried doing kintsugi on my own for the first time, following the steps I learned in class. While the fields rest during winter, I spend this quiet season doing handwork at home. I carefully went through each step I have been practicing. Since gold and silver are quite expensive, I finished this piece using tin powder instead. Kintsugi requires patience. It takes time to complete, but the moment a broken piece can be used again is truly special. Using one object for a long time— I believe that, too, is a form of kindness. 🍂 Highlights ・Reviewing the steps learned in class ・My first time doing kintsugi alone ・Bonding with mugi-urushi ・Tin powder finish ・A quiet winter handwork session at home ▶ Previous Video Chapter 31 “Winter Oden and Tempura” ▶ Next Video Chapter 33 “Closing the Garden for Winter” 🎵 Music DOVA-SYNDROME Noru “Kimi to Odayaka na Gogo” “Kimi to Katarai Ba” “Romantic Chocolates”
