Presentation March of the Navy played by the Marinemusikkorps Kiel The occasion is the military honours for the 110th Finnish Day in Hohenlockstedt. 110th Finnish Day in Hohenlockstedt: From February 1915 to February 1918, volunteers from the Grand Duchy of Finland, which was part of Russia at the time, received military training. The training took place in Hohenlockstedt in Schleswig-Holstein and was top secret. Since the Finns did not yet have their own armed forces, the Finnish Jägers were led as the Royal Prussian Jäger Battalion No. 27. The training was so good that the soldiers were able to play a key role in driving out the Russians in the civil war of 1918. Many later generals or admirals of the Finnish armed forces had completed training in Hohenlockstedt. The gratitude still resonates today and the good relationship is maintained to this day. On March 1, 2025, the 110th anniversary of the founding of the Finnish Jager and the Finnish Armed Forces was celebrated in Hohenlockstedt. The Inspector General of the German Armed Forces, General Carsten Breuer, and Finland's Chief of Defense, General Janne Jaakkola, were also present. In addition to military honours to welcome the generals, a wreath-laying ceremony and a Great Tattoo also took place.
