MOTORBIKE TOUR IN KORAT | NAKHON RATCHASIMA | THIRD LARGEST CITY IN THAILAND

We recorded this riding tour in Korat city on a beautiful sunny Saturday during the Thailand Constitution Day holiday in December 2021. Nakhon Ratchasima, also called Korat, is the third largest city in Thailand, located in the northeast of the country. Korat is a busy commercial centre and a collecting point for rice and livestock. The city grew rapidly during the 1960s and ’70s with the buildup of its Royal Thai Air Force Base, from which American planes operated during the Vietnam War. Silk is produced in nearby villages. Rice, corn (maize), and tobacco are grown in the surrounding area, much of which is devoted to raising cattle and pigs. Many attractions in Korat are centred around the legendary heroine Yaa Mo (Thao Suranari), as well as the victorious battle she led against invading Laotians. A part of the historic old city wall and some city gates from the empire era are preserved, and this region is surrounded by a canal.
