AUSTRIA * Tauern Cycle Route * Sankt Johann - Golling * Epi05 ENGLISH

In this video series, I'm taking you with me to Austria, where I'm cycling a section of the Tauern Cycle Route. The Tauern Cycle Route runs from Krimml, home to the famous waterfall, to Passau on the Danube. However, I'm only cycling the section between Krimml and Salzburg, though I'm also making a detour to Maria Alm, from where a variant of the cycle route leads to Salzburg. I'm riding the tour on my little e-bike and keeping the daily distances manageable. I booked my accommodations in advance. You could call it a leisurely tour. I really enjoyed this little tour and hope that if you're thinking of cycling this route yourself sometime, you can get a good impression. In this episode I am riding from Sankt Johann to Golling. Initially the bike path follows the river Salzach, always having the amazing Tennen mountain range in view, and I am telling you the saga of the Bochburger-robber knights. In Werfen you can take a walking tour to visit "Eisriesenwelt", a stunning icy cave. As I did this a few years ago, I incorporate a few images of that. Then, back to the bike. The section between Werfen and Golling I found dangerous. You no longer ride on separate bike path, but you have a share a busy road, and I mean busy, with traffic, including trucks. I recommend, especially, if you ride together with children, to just take the train from Werfen to Golling. However, having reached Golling, I'm taking an excusion to beautiful Lake Bluntau, which I surround. Back to Sankt Johan by train, where I have another night at my accommodation. Oh yeah, and music makes the sound... or something like that? So, I came up with something to add a bit more energy to the videos. The text (you can't really call it lyrics) is mine, but I used a little help from AI just to generate the sound of the music. Oh, and one more thing: I originally recorded this video series in English, which you get to see here, but since most of my viewers are probably from German-speaking countries and it's a bit tiring for them to always read subtitles, so this time I went a different route, did a voiceover in German. and provided a separate German version of this video, marked by a pink star "Version DEUTSCH". However, the English subtitles you may find were automatically generated and therefore aren't perfect. Enjoy!
