Rye (Grove Road) Level Crossing, East Sussex

Rye (Grove Road) Level Crossing, East Sussex Crossing Type: MCB+CCTV (Manually Controlled Barriers + Closed Circuit Television) Date Filmed: 29/3/25 Located Between Rye and Appledore Stations Rail Line: Ashford International to Hastings (Marshlink Line) Location: Road: Rope Walk / The Grove, Rye Google Maps Location: 50.953763 0.733497 Filmed On Google Pixel 7A - Ultra Wide, 1080p, 30fps Timetable Used: Rye on Real Time Trains Here is the Eastern Crossing in the town of Rye, in East Sussex. This array of equipment dates back to separate renewals in 2017 and 2019. 2017 is when the LED Wigwags were installed, and the previous Godwin Warren Engineering (GWE) Barriers and Yodalarms were renewed together in 2019. Strangely, the alarms are still inside the barriers, and each barrier pedestal has an alarm, making 4 of them A solo lowering features, with 1 of the 2 services of the hour passing. The other passes separately, as I unfortunately missed the crossing lowering. The station adjacent is the main passing loop for these services, but this crossing, as well as the one on Ferry Road, have only a single track, so the trains must pass in the station, a vast majority of the time. Enjoy! Timestamps are here for trains: Lowering: 0:00 Train 1 - Southern Class 171809 (Ashford International to Eastbourne): 2:02 Train 2 - Southern Class 171808 (Eastbourne to Ashford International): 2:42 End Of Video Pictures: 3:27 Thanks for watching!
