9 car Hastings DEMU at St Leonards Warrior Square & Robertsbridge station (5/4/25) Class 201 Thumpers 1001 and 1013 operating the East West DEMU rail tour provided by Hastings Diesels Ltd from Hastings to Milton Keynes, Oxford, Bicester Village and the newly reopened East West line. This is the first ever charter in preservation to utilise a 9 coach Hastings unit comprising of two separate trains and also the first time that prototype motorcoach S60000 “Hastings” has carried passengers in just under 20 years. Furthermore, this railtour marks the return of trailer coach S60501 which was stood down for overhaul after last operating the “Baker’s Dozen” excursion in April 2023” Fun fact, the headboards for this trip were made by yours truly.
