Now that it’s summer, let’s try to use the sun to power some fun Lego inventions! Today, we’ll build a couple of motors from scratch that will run on solar power from a small solar panel. For our first motor, I’ve always wanted to build a solar-powered orrery so we can observe the moon and earth orbiting the sun, all while powered by the sun itself! For our second motor, we’ll step it up by turning the rotor into a levitating rotor powered by the sun. Let’s see if we can make a ‘floating’ desk toy that can run by itself throughout the day.
