Ratzon expresses the depths of the etzem; taanug ha'atzmi remains fundamentally concealed

Samach Vav Part 138 -- p. 99-101: The true sign that desire (ratzon) is coming from the innermost core of the soul is the power and intensity of its expression: whether he desires the core depths of the entity or only its surface. An expression of this profound desire is in the quality of Joseph's avodah over his brothers. This is why prayer from the innermost walls (depths) of the heart, like the prayer of Chana and Chizkiyahu, reaches Atzmus. Prayer is called a ladder that rises from earth to heaven -- from the depths below to the depths above. The desire to connect to Atzmus, higher than even the highest revelations, which are all nullified compared to core delights in Atzmus (the taanug ha'tazmi within the ratzon ha'atzmi of Torah and mitzvos). This is all the power of ratzon, which manifests and expresses the etzem (even as it extends outward), whereas revealed taanug only expresses a reflection. However, this is referring to the expression of taanug; but the etzem ha'taanug is concealed in the core, and is within everything, including ratzon ha'atzmi, even the ratzon that originates in the etzem beyond reason and pleasure (the taanug ha'atzmi is not the reason and cause for the ratzon). The only thing revealed there is ratzon. The taanug atzmi remains fundamentally concealed.
