Learning How to Find Summer Walleye on Lake Erie

Summertime walleye fishing on Lake Erie in 2026 is one of the biggest things Ontario anglers look forward to, and in this full episode of HOOKED, I head out of Port Burwell with my cousin Brody to learn how to catch summer walleye. This episode was filmed a couple of years ago, but it still feels relevant for anyone planning to fish Lake Erie this season. Summer walleye fishing is completely different from spring river fishing, and this trip was one of those days where I really started learning how to find fish on big water, trust the pattern, and understand what it takes to catch walleye during the open water season. Lake Erie is one of the best walleye fisheries in North America, and the Port Burwell area is a huge part of Ontario’s summer walleye fishing scene. This episode is a throwback, but it still captures a real learning day on the water with family, trial and error, and one of my favourite species to fish for. I recently got the rights to post Season 3 on YouTube, so I’m excited to share some of these older episodes and the fishing lessons that helped shape the way I fish today.
