Searching for Spring Crappie in Long Point Bay

Spring crappie fishing on Long Point Bay is here for 2026, so Claira and I headed out to search the channels and see if we could find some big crappie to fill up our freezers. In this video, we took the Jon boat out to fish the channels of Long Point Bay in southern Ontario, looking for crappie as they start moving into their spring areas preparing for the spawn. The channels can be a great place to explore this time of year, but it still takes some searching, moving around, and figuring out where the fish are hiding. This was a fun spring crappie fishing trip and a great way to kick off more open water fishing in Ontario. We grabbed minnows from Old Cut Boat Livery, covered water through the channels, and tried to put together a good panfish bite.
