How to make a Tripod Textured Slab Cup! (Ceramics II classes)
This video is a comprehensive demo of creating a textured slab cup with a tripod form. I show the building from plastic stage through the finishing of leatherhard forms. Discussion of glazes to use to enhance textures. You can use this technique with any size pattern you want! My particular pattern was 11" x 5.25"... but there isn't anything magical about that size! I just liked it! ;-) This video was made for my Ceramics II students at MHS, when making their textured slab projects, or inspiration pieces. I learned this awesome technique several years ago from Sandi Pierantozzi . Check out some of her videos (and her husband's Neil Patterson) for more tips!! Follow my Amazon Influencer Storefront for my recommendations of tools, and ceramic studio supplies! https://www.amazon.com/shop/karanspot... I am a high school ceramics teacher and potter. I have been working in clay for over 30 years, and I have been teaching for over 28 years, the past 20 have been specifically teaching high school ceramics. I love what I do! I have my own studio in my home basement, where I work on my personal pottery for my Etsy site; https://www.etsy.com/shop/KaransPotsA... I started my Youtube channel a few years ago, to make videos to help my students if they are absent and miss a demo, or if they would like to explore more advanced techniques independently. I have been amazed to reach such a wider audience than my own students!
