Are immigrants really our country's number one problem? What should we fear from their arrival? Shouldn't we worry about emigration, rather than immigration, about those, often highly qualified, who flee our country? Tito Boeri is Professor of Economics at Bocconi University in Milan and Senior Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics. He has been a senior economist at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), a consultant to the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the European Commission, the International Labour Office, and the Italian Government. From December 2014 to February 2019, he served as President of the National Institute of Social Security (INPS). He is a Scientific Advisor to the Rodolfo Debenedetti Foundation (www.frdb.org), of which he has been Director since its inception in 1998. He has been a columnist for Il Sole24ore, La Stampa, and La Repubblica, and has collaborated with foreign newspapers such as the Financial Times and Le Monde.
