The Walk - EP 47 - The birth of Coalville - Snibston Colliery - Leicestershire

I'm back home-ish in the East Midlands. On this walk I'll be heading down the Swannington Incline, on the Leicester and Swannington Railway, just outside the town of Coalville. The stomp takes me down into the town centre where Snibston Colliery 2, which closed in 1983, still stands, bold and brass, surrounded by the shops and houses of a busy Leicestershire town. The colliery site boasts a signal box, winding arms and even wagons and mining equipment. It's as if the workers just upped and left 40 years ago, and the site was left as a time capsule. *Made some merch for the railway fans like myself.
