Strensall No.2 Level Crossing

Tuesday September 9 2025 at 2.18. The 12.35 Manchester to Scarborough (14.59) train. Came here in 2015 and filmed this from the other side:    • Strensall (Moor Lane) Level Crossing   The train in that video, coming from the opposite direction, took 25% longer to arrive. There is a National Railway Museum video showing how the Strensall signal box is operated: https://www.s-r-s.org.uk/videoPages/Y... I've only watched it once and found it impossible to follow. Part of that was the Yorkshire accent. The signalman says that Strensall No.1 and No.2 are usually activated together as they are so close. With only 36 trains a day to get through the crossings it's not an excessively difficult task fortunately. I've a cousin who volunteers at the museum.
