Casa G - Puleo Architettura | Brucoli, Sicily Casa G is a renovation project of a 1960s house located on the Gulf of Brucoli, with direct access to the sea and a panoramic view of Etna and the Sicilian coast. This project, developed by Puleo Architettura, has maintained the historical essence of the original house, adapting it to modern needs. The original house was built on pillars with the residential area on the first floor. The restyling has maintained this configuration, differentiating the ground floor from the first floor. The ground floor, intended for the convivial area, has been treated with Modica stone in the different finishes created specifically for Casa G, creating a contrast with the first floor, which "rests" on this base. The facade has been redesigned with plays of solids and voids, inspired by the geometries of the 1960s, maintaining the pillars and exposed beams. The ground floor includes a kitchen, dining area and conversation area, with custom-designed furniture. A central piece of furniture hides the original pillars and divides the dining area from the television area. The kitchen, facing the sea, was made of wood and steel to ensure resistance and elegance. The large windows, from floor to ceiling, allow a continuous flow of natural light, visually connecting the interior spaces with the exterior, for a seamless living experience between inside and outside. The upper floor was designed to accommodate several people, with two separate areas: one private and one for guests. While the ground floor retains historical elements, the sleeping area has been renovated in a modern key, with boiserie and parquet floors. The bathrooms, on the other hand, recall the Mediterranean style, with the use of local stone and ceramic. Casa G represents a perfect balance between tradition and modernity, where the renovation has maintained the distinctive features of the '60s, integrating innovative solutions to adapt the home to contemporary needs. The project has not only respected the history and the original structure of the house, but has also enhanced the relationship with the surrounding environment, offering breathtaking views and a constant visual and physical connection with the sea and the natural landscape.
