JKD Sparring: Strong Side Forward vs "Orthodox" Stance
Grab my FREE "Ultimate JKD Kickboxing" Starter Kit: https://austinimpactjkd.com/ultimate-... Before we jump into the sparring footage, I want to show you three key tactics to watch for. In this session we're working from an open stance, also known as unmatched leads. When both fighters have opposite leads forward, the angles, targets, and opportunities change dramatically. Throughout this spar you'll see me focus on: • Attacking the inside leg with the rear kick while maintaining outside foot position • Targeting the liver with quick, penetrating kicks rather than wide swinging kicks • Using the lead uppercut and lead hook to work around the opponent's guard and set up the cross As you watch, pay attention to how these attacks connect together and how controlling the outside angle creates openings while limiting the opponent's ability to counter effectively.
