Stavanger & Pulpit Rock… in the rain? | P&O Iona Norwegian Fjords Cruise

Today P&O Iona arrives in Stavanger, Norway, our first port of call on this incredible Norwegian Fjords cruise and a trip to Lysefjord & Pulpit Rock. With rain forecast for most of the day, expectations weren’t exactly sky-high but Norway had other ideas! Sailing into Stavanger is a spectacular experience, with stunning scenery greeting us as we arrive in one of Norway’s most charming coastal cities. After disembarking, I spend some time exploring the colourful streets, picturesque harbour, and traditional Norwegian surroundings that make Stavanger such a popular cruise destination. The highlight of the day is an independently booked boat trip through the breathtaking Lysefjord to see the world-famous Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen). This incredible fjord cruise offers unforgettable views of dramatic cliffs, waterfalls, and some of Norway’s most spectacular scenery. It turned out to be one of the absolute highlights of the entire cruise and a trip I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting Stavanger. After an unforgettable day exploring Stavanger and Lysefjord, it’s time to return to P&O Iona and enjoy sail away as we head towards our next destination in the Norwegian Fjords.
