We arrive into Vigo to beautiful sunshine, finally a perfect day for exploring! After docking, I head into the city… but there’s one problem: Vigo is very hilly. Luckily, I’ve got a plan to avoid most of the climb… First stop is the peaceful Alameda da Praza de Compostela, a stunning park right in the city centre complete with some leftover Christmas decorations, even in late February. Then comes one of the best discoveries of the trip… the incredible Vía Vigo street escalators. These free outdoor escalators take you from the bottom of the city all the way to the top. An absolute game changer! At the top, we explore the historic Castelo do Castro, with breathtaking views over the city and back towards the ship. Easily one of the best viewpoints of the cruise so far!
