We had the rare privilege of meeting a living icon and legend, Chief Joe Anyigbo the man widely known for building the mighty Chevron Estate in Lekki and a man who made remarkable contributions to Nigeria’s Oil and Gas industry. During his time in the industry, he was regarded as one of the highest-ranking Black executives in the global oil sector, a trailblazer whose achievements opened doors for many others. Chief Joe O. Anyigbo has served as a Non-Executive Director of Pharma-Deko Plc since 2006 and also holds board appointments in several other companies. With over 30 years of experience across all sectors of the Oil and Gas industry, his impact is truly remarkable. He retired from Chevron Nigeria Limited in 2002 as an Executive Director, after a distinguished career. Academically, Chief Anyigbo is equally outstanding. He earned a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Chemical Engineering from Lafayette College, USA (1967), a Master of Science from Carnegie Mellon University (1969), and later obtained an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh (1971). He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers, a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Society, and a proud recipient of the National Productivity Order of Merit Award.
