We Toured The Home Of Chief Colins Obi, A Man Who Gave Igbo’s 10,000 dollars each After The War.
We visited the home of CHIEF COLLINS KENNETH NNADI OBIH (OCHIAGHA DIKENAFAI & OZO-IGBO-NDU) in Dikenafai, Ideato South LGA of Imo State a man widely known as the Father of Nigerian Banking. His role after the Nigeria Biafra War helped many Igbo people recover economically after the Nigerian government gave only £20 to individuals, regardless of their previous wealth, businesses, or properties. Chief Collins Obi introduced a loan strategy of £10,000 without collateral, which helped Igbo businessmen and women rebuild their lives and businesses immediately after the war. By 1973, many cities in the then Eastern Region had already been rebuilt, thanks to the economic recovery efforts championed by great men like Chief Collins Obi. He was highly intelligent, influential, and respected across Nigeria, yet remained humble and peaceful in his lifestyle. He was close friends with many prominent politicians and businessmen in Nigeria. HRH Igwe Ugochukwu Abirikete of Umunze was one of his closest friends. Great leaders such as K.O. Mbadiwe and Dr. Michael Okpara were also among his close associates. Chief Collins Obi lived a quiet and humble life despite his influence and achievements. Follow us as we document the story and legacy of this great man. To watch the full beautiful video, subscribe to our YouTube channel and support our projects and travels.
