After several days of rain, when he wanted to cycle to work, both his bicycle and all the bicycle racks had vanished. As it later turned out, the City of Vienna had removed the bicycle racks due to construction work. All the bicycles in the area were parked at other racks and secured with metal straps. Mr. W.'s bicycle—only a few weeks old—had obviously been stolen. Mr. W. tried unsuccessfully to find someone responsible at the City of Vienna. He then contacted the Ombudsman's Office for assistance. Missing Bicycle This summer, Mr. W. was quite surprised. *Sports Field Next to Housing Estate Loud ball games and even golf, barbecues, mopeds and bicycles – all of this takes place at the sports field on Jahnstrasse in Amstetten, some residents complained. They said they had no peace and quiet, neither on weekends nor in the evenings, and that the municipality wasn't adequately addressing their complaints. They therefore sought assistance from the Ombudsman. What has happened since then, and how may the sports field now be used? Where is the old lady's money? When Ms. W. was appointed as the legal representative for her sister, who suffers from dementia, she discovered that "something wasn't right" with the accounts and safe at the Raiffeisenbank Zwettl. Around €800,000 and gold coins had disappeared. Ms. W. hired a lawyer and filed a complaint. After a lengthy legal process, a legally binding verdict has now been reached: A bank employee was found guilty and sentenced to four years in prison. But where is the money? Will the family be compensated for the loss, and who is responsible for this?
