By doing two strength training sessions per week, it's possible to increase muscle strength, build muscle, lose fat, and burn calories. Furthermore, strength training is easy, accessible to all fitness levels, and offers numerous health benefits. Strength training is recommended for men, women, and seniors. On average, 10 weeks of strength training can increase muscle mass by 1.4 kg, increase resting metabolic rate by 7%, and reduce fat mass by 1.8 kg. To maximize health benefits, current recommendations advise two strength training sessions per week, for a total of at least 30 to 60 minutes per week.
