'Class 455 Farewell' Railtour at Egham & Addlestone Level Crossings, Surrey

While some modern, more recently-refurbished Class 458 trains make appearances, the main focus of this video is of the two Class 455 'Farewell' rail tours which were running on this date, with the second train solely added due to exceptional demand for this tour. The first train is seen at Egham, with the second seen at Addlestone within the hour, and they were running about an hour apart for most of the day. These were on their final return to London Waterloo, on this particular leg having run via Haslemere which wouldn't have seen a 455 in many a year. Some of this fleet lasted well over a month in service after this tour happened, kept as emergency spares to cover workings should they be needed; the very pair seen at Egham I have since seen in the Oxshott area at nearly the end of January 2026. At Addlestone Level Crossing, half of the road was closed with only one lane remaining open as a one-way street, though this was frequently ignored in dangerous moves by motorists. However, most of the closed lane was adequately coned-off, allowing for a unique starting shot to be had at this usually very busy crossing!
