Homemade Heath Bar Cake or Better then anything cake. From scratch Caramel Sauce and Homemade English Toffee. Chocolate Cake: 1 1/2 c Flour 1 1/2 c sugar 1 TBS baking powder 1 tsp salt Mix all in a bowl. Wet ingredients: 1-1/4 cup hot coffee 1/2 c cocoa powder add to hot coffee. 1/2 cup oil 1/2 cup Buttermilk 1 tsp vanilla Mix and add all to Flour mixture. 2 Eggs 1 TBS molasses Blend all. Pour into (2) 9x13 if layering or (2) round pans, or (1) 9X13. Bake 325 for 20 min if split between two pans 30-35 minutes for one pan, depending on your oven. Caramel Sauce: 6 TBS butter 1 cup brown sugar or 1 cup white sugar with 1 tsp molasses. Cook 3 minutes in microwave, stir, cook 1 more min in microwave. Add 1/2 cup whipping cream 1 tsp vanilla. 1 TBS corn syrup Store in Jar or airtight container for up to 2 weeks. English Toffee: 2 sticks butter 1 cup sugar 1/4 c water Put all in pan and bring to 300~ Hard crack stage 2 cups Almonds 1 cup Chocolate chips or milk chocolate. 2 Cups Almonds, put in microwave for 2 minutes, stir after 1 min. Chop into small pieces. Line pan w/ parchment paper or silicone. Put 1/2 of almonds in bottom of pan. I used 9x12. Pour toffee over almonds. Top with rest of almonds. Top with 1 cup of milk chocolate or semi sweet. Set in fridge or freezer to set up and harden chocolate. Break into pieces. Store into air tight container.
