I Forgot To Charge Everything - Te Urewera to Hamilton - Part 1 of 2

Sometimes you just need an excuse to get away from the house and go for a ride. My destination was Hamilton, but the journey was... interesting. I took the scenic route north through the stunning Te Urewera and past Lake Waikaremoana. The views were incredible—right up until my drone, helmet cam, and every single spare battery died. Turns out, I hadn't charged a thing since the last ride! Despite the technical difficulties, the riding was great. I hit the fast, straight gravel of the Matahina Forest, though a planned shortcut to the Kaimai Power Station was thwarted by a locked gate (thanks for lying to me, Google Maps). I also made the mistake of stopping at Hobbiton. It was so packed with tourists I could barely move, so I got out of there as fast as possible. The ride finished up at the Waikato River in Hamilton.
