Athenry to Limerick return trip 31-12-2022
A return journey filmed from Athenry to Limerick on New Year’s Eve 2022. It features the 1051 to Limerick. Train was 95% full arriving into Athenry with only a 2 piece 2800. We crossed the 0920 Limerick-Galway which was full arriving into Athenry. Note more people boarded the Limerick bound train than the Galway bound train at Athenry. Some people were standing from Athenry. At Ardrahan 3 joined, 5 at Gort, at Ennis approx. 15+ got off and 20+ joined. At Sixmilebridge another 10 approx. joined. On the return (1420) journey the queue for the Galway train was out the front door of Limerick station. The train was 95% full departing. At Sixmilebridge between approx. 10 joined, at Ennis a decent crowd boarded and some alighted. Crossed the south bound Galway-Limerick train which was 85% full. At Gort a few got off and one joined. At Ardrahan, 3 joined and at Craughwell 15 got on which meant standing room only. Approx. 10 more joined at Athenry and a number alighted.
