Salvation Army leader General Buckingham visits Uganda

The world leader of the Salvation Army, General Lyndon Buckingham, has arrived in Uganda for a six-day working visit to oversee various projects. The New Zealand national, who joined the officer corps (or clergy) in the 1990s, is accompanied by his wife, Bronwyn Buckingham, who is also the world President of Women’s Ministries. The general will meet with officers serving in the 40 districts, as well as government officials, to strengthen faith in the country and foster strong humanitarian support with the government.
