In 1 Peter 1:1–2, Peter writes to believers who are living as strangers in a world where they no longer fit in, but before he speaks to them about suffering, struggle, or calling, he tells them who they truly are: chosen. This message shows that the identity of the believer is not spoken by the world, but by God. The Father foreknew, the Spirit set apart, and the Son sprinkled with the blood of the covenant. Therefore, even in scattering, pressure, and rejection, God’s people do not live by the labels of the world, but by the security of grace and peace that multiply.
