Interviewing Chief Justice Applicants

It was a first of sorts as interviews for candidates to the position of chief justice kicked off. Unlike in the past, the interviews conducted by the judicial service commission were done publicly, under the glare of news cameras. The first candidate to be interviewed was Alnashir Visram who had earlier been controversially nominated by President Mwai Kibaki. He was later in the afternoon followed by Dr. Willy Mutunga. A total of 10 candidates have been shortlisted for interviews for the job that was left vacant by justice Evan Gicheru in February as stipulated in the new constitution. Willis Raburu has the details.
