Suwannee River Solo Day 3 | Teeter Almost Jumps Out of the Canoe!
On Day 3 of my solo canoe trip down the Suwannee River, Teeter (my blue heeler) and I paddled from Adams Tract River Camp to a remote primitive campsite south of Branford, Florida. We set up camp along a sandy shoreline tucked into the tree line and spent the night in a hammock under the stars. Along the way, we saw wild turkeys, buzzards, and crows—and even spotted a sturgeon leaping from the river (though I missed getting it on camera). One of the more intense moments came when Teeter nearly jumped out of the canoe trying to chase buzzards gathered in the trees. We made a stop at Ruth Springs where Teeter cooled off with a swim, and I also included some drone footage of a sunset from Peacock Slough that I came across while editing. To wrap up the day, I talk about how much the Suwannee River has changed over just 20 miles of travel.
