Vegetable Dalia Pulao Quick, Easy & Healthy Meal Ingredients ½ cup broken wheat (dalia) ¼ cup potato, chopped ¼ cup carrot, chopped ¼ cup green capsicum, chopped ¼ cup red capsicum, chopped ¼ cup green peas ½ onion, chopped 1 tsp ginger and green chilli, finely chopped ½ tomato, chopped 1 tbsp desi ghee ¼ cup fresh coriander leaves, chopped 2 cups water Whole Spices 1 bay leaf 2 green cardamoms 1 tsp cumin seeds Powdered Spices 1 tsp salt (or to taste) ½ tsp red chilli powder ½ tsp coriander powder ½ tsp cumin powder ½ tsp garam masala Method 1. Heat desi ghee in a pressure cooker or deep pan. 2. Add bay leaf, green cardamoms, and cumin seeds. Sauté until fragrant. 3. Add chopped onion, ginger, and green chilli. Cook until the onion turns light golden. 4. Add tomato and cook until soft. 5. Add potato, carrot, green peas, green capsicum, and red capsicum. Sauté for 2–3 minutes. 6. Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well. 7. Add the broken wheat (dalia) and roast for 1–2 minutes with the vegetables. 8. Pour in 2 cups of water and stir. 9. Cover and cook: Pressure cooker: 1–2 whistles Pan: Cook covered until the dalia is soft and the water is absorbed 10. Sprinkle fresh coriander leaves and gently fluff with a fork. Serving Suggestion Serve hot with: Curd (yogurt) Dal Mixed vegetable curry It can also be enjoyed on its own as a complete meal.
