Apopka Loop Trail Is Complete - 47 Miles

I left the West Orange Trail and headed east in search of the long-awaited Connector Trail to the Apopka Wildlife Drive Trail. This new connector is the final piece needed to complete a full circumnavigation of Lake Apopka entirely on dedicated bike trails. Although the official grand opening is set for February 28, the trail is already finished and open to ride. Below you’ll find a Ride With GPS (RWGPS) route for the entire loop beginning at the Green Mountain Overlook. The first 17 miles are gravel, followed by roughly 30 miles of paved riding along the new connector, the West Orange Trail, and the recently extended Hancock Trail, which now reaches the Green Mountain Overlook—the western terminus of the Apopka Wildlife Trail. The Apopka Loop has been years in the making, and it’s exciting to finally see it complete.
