3e etappe NEDERLANDS KUSTPAD FRIESLAND-GRONINGEN (LAW5-3), van MAKKUM naar HARLINGEN

From the harbor at Makkum, we walk straight through the town center and along a pleasant, long path through the meadows, along the Molkfeart / Goaiumer Faert to the village of Wons. After the viaduct over the A7 highway, we continue on a pleasant grassy path between two ditches. We arrive at the point where the approach route from the Afsluitdijk meets this coastal path, and instead of walking to the Wadden Sea, we turn inland again for a bit to De Blokken, where the Gulden Halsband (Golden Necklace) is located. Then it's finally time to climb up to and over the dike to greet the Wadden Sea and see the Wadden Islands in the distance. A five-meter mudflat hike and then it's just a stone's throw to Harlingen, with the Stenen Man (Stone Man) and the train station.
