Terrible blind airport assistance! Covid flight back home, part 1
For my new viewers, I am 100% completely blind, I have no light perception, and I wear prosthetic eyes on top of my small natural eyes. As you will see/hear in this video, I face many great challenges when I travel through airports completely blind. Even though I have great independent blind skills, and I have an amazing guiding angel Arabella leading the way, I am still at the mercy of needing human assistance when traveling through airports. I never expect individuals to know how to assist me best, that is why I am very vocal when verbalizing my needs. However, as you will here in this video, even though this gentleman was very kind, it seems he didn’t understand my requests when I tried expressing my needs. In addition, I found it very challenging to hear his voice, he was very soft-spoken. In a loud and noisy environment, when you are assisting the blind it is very important to articulate your words and to speak in an appropriate volume so the blind can hear you to follow. Blind individuals are not deaf, but we do need verbal cues spoken aloud so we can understand directions more clearly. If you want to see a video of someone who knows exactly how to assist the blind through an airport, you have to check this one out! James is the perfect example! For his first time assisting the blind, simply outstanding in every way!!!: • outstanding service! How an airport employ... PS. Many people wonder how I film my adventures, I film everything with my iPhone in landscape mode back facing while holding the camera in my right hand. I aim the camera lens on the top left corner of my iPhone at everything I am hearing, touching, and mentally visualizing. Over the past several years I have devoted a lot of time to learning how to film completely blind, with every adventure I am always perfecting my skills. I love when people compliment my filming, it just goes to show the world you don’t have to have eyesight to have vision 💛 Blind layover airport adventure!
