Middenberm De Boelelaan wordt verhard

Het Verkeer visits the construction work on De Boelelaan. The median strip of the tram tracks is being reinforced here so that buses can drive over it. Environmental Manager Chiem ten Have explains why this is necessary and what traffic needs to take into account in the coming period. Environmental Manager ten Have explains: "Currently, buses still share the road lanes. This often causes significant delays for buses during rush hour. So we are going to reinforce the tram tracks so that buses can drive over them." Meanwhile, work is in full swing along the road, and excavators are standing ready to break open the median strip. "This ensures that buses can also run nicely on time during rush hour. We are reinforcing the tram tracks by excavating the median strip. An asphalt layer will be applied over this so that the bus can drive over it," explains ten Have. Consequences for traffic The work is being carried out in phases. Currently, one lane on De Boelelaan is closed, and trams are driving through the work at a reduced speed. From July 20 to August 9, De Boelelaan, between the Parnassusweg intersection and Gustav Mahlerlaan, will be completely closed to car traffic. Traffic will be diverted via Buitenveldertselaan, Van Nijenrodeweg, and Van der Boechorstraat. No trams will run during the first two weeks of July. It is advised to monitor the GVB website. The works will last until August 9.
