Weekendafsluiting A10 Zuid binnenring

Another weekend closure is coming up for the Zuidasdok project. From Friday evening, June 12 at 10:00 PM until Monday morning, June 15 at 5:00 AM, the A10 South inner ring will be closed. The connections from the A10 North to the A10 East and from the A10 East to the A10 South will also be closed. Traffic manager Jaap Buitink explains in Het Verkeer what this means for the accessibility of the city. "Closing the inner ring is one of our most severe closures," says Buitink. "We therefore expect significant disruption." Motorists should consequently expect a sixty-minute delay, the traffic manager warns. And that delay is not only on the highways but also within the city itself. "We expected significant delays, particularly in the Stadionbuurt, near the Amstelveenseweg, and at Hoofddorpplein." The closure of the A10 South inner ring will begin on Friday evening, June 12, at 10:00 PM and will last until Monday morning, June 15, at 5:00 AM. During this time, traffic will not be possible from the S108 on-ramp towards the A4 and the A10 West. The connections from the A10 North to the A10 East and from the A10 East to the A10 South will also be closed. Traffic will be diverted via the A9 on the south side and the A10 East and the A10 North on the north side. The closure of the inner ring is necessary to allow work to be carried out on the Schinkel Bridge. As part of the Zuidasdok project, this bridge is being expanded from five to eight bridges. This is necessary to allow for the widening of the Southern ring road in the future. "This coming weekend, we will be hoisting prefabricated girders into place," explains work planner Darren Helle. "These are concrete girders that were manufactured in the factory. These girders will be hoisted into position from the highway." The disruption will not end after this weekend either. "During the weekend of June 26 to 29, we will close the A10 South outer ring. That will also cause significant delays," concludes Buitink.
